Computer Training - Adobe Web Design Explained

By Jason Kendall

If you'd like to become a web designer and have the most recognised qualification for the job market today, the course you need is Adobe Dreamweaver. In order to take advantage of Dreamweaver professionally as a web designer, a full understanding of the whole Adobe Web Creative Suite (which incorporates Flash and Action Script) is without doubt a bonus. Having this knowledge will mean, you can go onto become either an Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) or an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE).

Understanding how to design the website is simply the first base. Driving traffic, content maintenance and knowledge of some programming essentials should come next. Aim for training that also contain modules to include these skills (such as PHP, HTML, MySQL etc.), in addition to E-Commerce and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) skills.

What questions do we need to ask if we're to arrive at the understanding required? Because it's apparent there are a good many pretty unparalleled possibilities for us to look at.

With so much choice, is it any wonder that most potential career changers don't really understand the best career path they could be successful with. Reading a list of IT job-titles is a complete waste of time. The vast majority of us have no concept what our good friends do at work - so we have no hope of understanding the intricacies of a particular IT career. To get to the bottom of this, a discussion is necessary, covering many core topics:

* What hobbies you have and enjoy - these can define what possibilities will satisfy you.

* Why it seems right getting involved with the IT industry - is it to triumph over a life-long goal such as working for yourself maybe.

* How highly do you rate salary - is it of prime importance, or do you place job satisfaction a little higher on your list of priorities?

* Getting to grips with what the normal Information technology types and sectors are - and what differentiates them.

* The level of commitment and effort you'll have available to put into obtaining your certification.

When all is said and done, the most intelligent way of understanding everything necessary is by means of an in-depth discussion with a professional that understands the market well enough to be able to guide you.

A lot of training schools are still using the rather old-fashioned idea of classroom lessons. Usually touted as a major benefit, after discussion with someone who has first-hand experience, you'll find them listing some or most of the following problems:

* Masses of travelling to and from the centre - usually hundreds of miles.

* Availability of classes; frequently Monday to Friday and two or three days in a row. You then have the difficulty of the leave of absence.

* If we've got 4 weeks off each year, giving half of them to study events means we'll be hard-pushed to get a holiday with our families.

* Classes invariably become over full.

* Often attendees want to work as quickly as possible, others want a more steady pace and not be pushed beyond their comfort-zone. This will often generate difficulty and tension in most cases.

* Many trainees speak about the high (and unexpected) costs associated with getting transport to and from the training venue while covering the cost of accommodation and food can get very expensive.

* Maintaining the privacy of our training can be very important to most students. There's no need to lose any job advancement, pay-rises or achievement at your current job just because you're retraining. When your boss discovers you're taking steps towards qualification in another area entirely, what do you think they'll do?

* Posing questions around our class-mates can make any one of us feel awkward. Have you ever left a question un-asked because you didn't want to appear stupid?

* Don't forget, days in-centre frequently become simply impossible to attend, if you work elsewhere in the country for part of the week.

It has to make more sense to learn when it's convenient for you - not the company - and use instructor-led videos with interactive lab's. You can study anywhere you want. Got a laptop?... Then why not take in some fresh air in your garden as you work. If you have any difficulties then use the provided 24x7 live support. You could re-watch and re-cover the study modules as many times as you need to prep for an exam. And of course, you won't need to take notes because the class is available whenever you want it. The result: Reduced hassle and stress, more money in the bank, and absolutely no travelling.
