How to Dress For My Body Shape
In this article we are going to look at how to dress the pear shaped figure of women. There are generally about four different figure types. The pear shape, the apple shape, the hourglass shape and the triangle shape.
The pear shape comes from the smaller upper body and slightly fuller lower body. Where the figure generally has a slender neck, narrow shoulders and back with smaller breasts, it is met with curvy hips larger bottom and fuller thighs to give it the pear shape.

The pear shaped figure is best having the attention on the top half with bright colours and darker shades on the hips and legs. Use the right clothes to enhance your shoulders and breasts drawing attention away from your larger hips and thighs.
With your lower half being the larger part of your body it is best to wear loose fitting blouses with a lot of detailing, brighter, lighter colours and textured fabrics. However, tighter fitted tops look great on you as well. This will help balance and minimise the look of your lower half.
Stay away from tapered jeans and go for more of the flared look this will slim down your upper leg. Go for tops with a scooped, vd, squared or rounded neckline to raise the attention from your lower half. This will also give you a wider look on your chest and shoulder making your top more in proportion with your lower body. Steer clear of tight short skirts as they only show every bump and make your bottom look even larger.
A-line skirts always look good on the pear shaped body and you can go for the straight leg jeans with a thin heel for the slimmer leg look, but be careful to avoid chunky shoes. Stick to wrap around dresses and empire waists this will help blend in the hip line.
