Interestingly enough, many people have hemorrhoids without actually even being aware of it, simply because there are essentially no warning signs. In fact, by the time you start experiencing a burning sensation, itching, or you notice there are spots of blood in your stools, you already have hemorrhoids. Witch Hazel has been used to treat varicose veins and hemorrhoids. This can be bought over-the-counter in several preparations such as lotions, suppositories and hemorrhoidal pads. Witch hazel can be used internally but not in the alcohol preparation available in drug stores.
