10 Questions You Should Ask Yourself: A preparation To Self-improvement

By Damon Nelson

You can be what you want to be, but that does not mean you have to be in the Army. Most of the time I see myself as someone who is contented with life. I am satisfied with the way things are. Of course, it is difficult to feel the same way when there are pressing issues to think of.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

We have had a slice or more of problems. Yet, these predicaments should not stop us from pursuing our dreams. Don't be ashamed to feed the fire that keeps your dream going. You might have to go back to school to reach your goals, but that should not stop you from getting there. People say that you can't teach an old dog new tricks or can they?

1. What do I really want? This is the age old question. There are many things you wish to do but there is so little time (or little budget).

Reflect and find something that you are really god at. This would be the beginning point to your self-improvement. Remember, diligence will help you reach your destination.

2. Should I really change? Change is inevitable. If you think that changing some aspects in your life is necessary, then do it. As long as it contributes to self-improvement. In this journey, most likely, you'll find that some aspects of your life need a tweak or so.

We have read, watched and experienced history. We have seen a lot of development and evolution, mostly, in our technology. Before, you have to go through an operator to be able to contact another person. Today, there is no more middle man. Moreover, phone is not the sole medium for long distance communication.

3. What's the bright side in all of this? Everyday, we are bombarded with saddening news from all over the globe. In this kind of situation it's best to look for the light at the end of the tunnel. A positive attitude is better for your health compared to it's negative counterpart. Say, that light is a train, just go on. Allow yourself to experience the little mishaps of life.

4. Am I comfortable with what I'm doing? You don't have to compare what you really want with what other people do. Each and every one of us is different. It might be ironic but our difference, in some ways, do bind us. Being different brings a little spice to your life as well as other people's life. Go on, try and experiment, it will definitely be exciting.

5. Have I done enough for myself? Is there a lingering need inside your head that you want to fill? Discontentment can be a hindering factor to your pursuits. It's alright to find little doses of these, since you can easily fill out those small emptiness.

6. Am I happy at where I am today? This is one unfair question. Your parents, friends, partner and children adore you. These people would love you forever despite some mishaps you've done.

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex? So maybe I don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean I can't try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have? I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it's more on how badly you really need it. I'd like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

9. What motivates me? What motivates you? It's an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the may be the hardest part. It's not like you can't have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that's it. Just try it piece by piece.

10. What Really Makes You Tick? Have you thought of one thing that really makes you tick? There are a lot opportunities outside, enjoy it and be the person you wanted to be. Yes, it will demand a lot from you, physically, emotionally, mentally and psychologically. Your dreams wouldn't ask something you don't or cannot have. So go on, be you.
