Death is a harsh reality and yet we prepare so little for it. Holding a service in memory of the deceased is a very old tradition that has undergone tremendous changes. Thirdly, such services do not require the presence of either the clergy or the casket and can be conveniently held without either.

With the rise in demand for personal funeral services, it is crucial to take the deceased into consideration while planning for it. Music, should be such that it is soft, soothing and from the personal favourites of the deceased. You can either engage a live music band or decide to go with music records.

There is also a growing trend of exhibiting the personal items of the departed to display his or her true nature to the entire world. Address is extremely important in all funeral services including the personal ones. It could be a poem, a song or a personal speech that reflects upon the dead person.

Lastly, it is advisable to give the guests gathered at the service some kind of a memento that will help them recall the memory of the deceased forever.
