Joining a gym may have a lot of benefits for people who need to focus on their fitness. Yet, there are people who settled on stopping and get themselves workout alone. Now, why do you think these people join a gym and why do others do not ever consider joining a gym? Below are some of the benefits and drawbacks of joining a gym.

Benefits of joining a gym:

In gym, you have the access on high quality equipments than what you can't afford. Such equipments include different varieties of dumbbells, barbell, cardio machine, weight lifting machines. and other equipments for your work out. Other gyms have provisions for pools, basketball courts, and other areas for sports activities. These will keep you from getting bored of doing the same routine everyday. You can learn several exercises using these available facilities.

There are also available trainers, staffs, and other members in gym whom you can enquire about your exercise. Professionals such as dieticians, gym instructors, physical therapist, yoga instructors, bodybuilders, and aerobic teachers are available in gym. You can ask them on how to exercise and use the facilities the right way and have a healthy diet for your training .

It is advisable to join a gym than to have a gym at your private home. Purchasing equipments for a gym will cost you a lot of money. So make sure that the gym is near your office or home.

Disadvantages of joining a gym:

The greatest disadvantage of joining a gym is the high cost. Aside from membership fee, there is also a regular fee. If you employ a personal trainer, most likely there will be an additional bill. Other gyms also bill for parking lots and use of locker rooms.

Then there is an issue of time and distance. You will have to take an extra time and effort just to travel to go to a gym.

Sometimes, the availability of equipments is also a question. If there are a number of people in a gym, there might be competition in using some equipments.
